Welcome to Stayner!

Meet organizer Michele McKenzie of Clearview Public Library in Nottawa. Like so many Ontario Culture Days community organizers, Michele works hard to bring organizations together throughout Simcoe County. This year for the festival, Edenvale Classic Aircraft Foundation is partnering with the Edenvale Aviation Heritage Foundation at Edenvale Aerodrome to offer “Hanger Time” events. Participants include the Stayner Heritage Society, the Wasaga Beach Historical Advisory Committee, and Borden Military Museum plus several local enthusiastic amateur historians, writers and memory collectors.

The Clearview Public Library is hosting additional special guests from the local community who will be telling the story of Amelia Earhart at Wasaga Beach (Week #1), the 75th anniversary of the de Havilland Chipmunk (Week #2), remembering the rollout of the Avro Arrow (Week #3) and acknowledging Remembrance Day (Week #4).

Not sure where to get started? Check out this collection of events around the region, including an outdoor concert, printmaking workshop, and art-powered poetry!

After your Hanger Time, take a short drive over to Nottawa for Artfest Ontario programming. Artfest is presenting a number of art events, activities and workshops during Culture Days such as a pop-up art & craft show, workshops for adults, families and kids, self guided art projects, poetry, and live music.

Michele had some wonderful local recommendations for visitors to enjoy when they come Stayner and the Simcoe County region:
