Welcome to Sault Ste. Marie!

Today we jump to Sault Ste. Marie and the many communities who call the north shore of Lake Huron home. We spoke with Cassandra Spade, the Operations & Programming Coordinator at Thinking Rock Community Arts in Thessalon, the Algoma district of Northern Ontario.

For Thinking Rock’s first time participating in the Ontario Culture Days festival, they’ve gotten started with a bang by offering a series of Participatory Community Mural Making sessions where community members can add their own messages of love and care to the fence. After the mural comes down in October, Thinking Rock will sew these messages together into a special, lasting artwork as part of our bigger community arts project, Social Fabric. Cassandra also told us she was looking forward to the I Spy Amazing Murals project organized by the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library. Take a look at this video with Bookie Monster to get a sense of the street art adding life around the town.
