Welcome to Orillia, the Sunshine City! Today we joined Jacqueline Surette, the Orillia Arts Council and friends for a virtual tour of Orillia’s vibrant arts and culture hub. This city is the perfect place for a nature lovers adventure or a cozy stroll through many colourful studios and galleries.

If you are looking for arts and culture, the Makers Market is the place to get hands-on and try something new or bring home some local art.  While you are in the area, make sure you head to Creative Nomad, a hub for creatives. We had the chance to take a look at their space and catch a glimpse at some of their pieces.

Art isn’t only found inside! Grabs some fresh air and admire some great public art at the Orillia Public Library or explore the city’s collection of Victorian and modern style buildings, perfect for a photoshoot or perhaps a pop-up restaurant.

On October 24, the Orillia District Arts Council will be hosting a full day of virtual arts and culture activities! Join them for performances, storytelling, workshops, videos, and an online gallery. Some of the featured artists and organizers include the Sawbones Society, Mariposa Arts Theatre, Storytelling Orillia, the Orillia Fine Arts Association, Exton Productions Inc., Jakob Pearce, Aiden Gaebel, Graydon Martyn, Angie Nussey and Michael Martyn. Tune in here.

Throughout the entire Ontario Culture Days festival, we’ll be dropping in on many different communities across the province. Hit the button below to check out the growing roster of these featured communities.
